Nigerian production house Nemsia Studios has unveiled its latest film, The Fire and The Moth, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Taiwo Egunjobi and produced by Emiola Fagbenle, the action-crime thriller delves into the dangerous underworld of art smuggling, wrapped in a striking Afro-Western aesthetic.
Ahead of the official release, an exclusive screening was held on May 14 at Alliance Française in Lagos. The event brought together cast members, crew, and select guests for a private viewing, which ended with a standing ovation. A post-screening Q&A session gave attendees a rare glimpse into the creative process behind the project.

Starring Tayo Faniran as Saba—a smuggler whose theft of a rare Ife Bronze head sets off a dangerous chain of events—the film features an ensemble cast that includes Jimmy Jean-Louis, Ini Dima-Okojie, Olarotimi Fakunle, Keppy Ekpenyong Bassey, and William Benson. The story, written by Isaac Ayodeji, has been lauded for its originality and its grounding in Nigerian cultural heritage.
Following the success of Nemsia Studios’ earlier release After 30, which topped Amazon Prime Video Nigeria’s charts for over eight days, The Fire and The Moth continues the studio’s momentum, offering global audiences a fresh take on African storytelling through a cinematic lens that is bold, authentic, and unapologetically Nigerian.
