Madame Tussauds Hollywood Unveils Viola Davis Wax Figure

Madame Tussauds Hollywood has unveiled a new wax figure of award-winning actress Viola Davis, honoring her historic career and status as an EGOT winner.

Davis, who previewed the figure ahead of its official reveal, described the experience as feeling “like I was in a dream.” The acclaimed actress is known for standout roles in “Fences,” “The Woman King,” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” “The Help,” and the television series “How to Get Away with Murder.”

She made history as the first African American to achieve EGOT status — winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony — and is the youngest person to reach the milestone.

The Madame Tussauds creative team used approximately 200 measurements and photographs to ensure the figure’s accuracy. Sculptors, colorists, hairdressers and stylists collaborated to bring the likeness to life.

The figure is dressed in the red Giorgio Armani Privé gown Davis wore to the 2017 Academy Awards, where she won Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Fences.
