President Paul Kagame on Tuesday hosted Hugh Evans, founder and CEO of Global Citizen, ahead of the third edition of the Move Afrika concert series scheduled for March 17 at BK Arena.
The concert, headlined by Doja Cat, is part of Move Afrika, a music touring initiative by Global Citizen aimed at promoting economic growth, job creation and entrepreneurship across the continent through large-scale entertainment events.
According to Rwanda’s Office of the President, discussions between Kagame and Evans focused on the partnership’s impact on Rwanda’s creative economy, as well as broader collaboration in sectors such as health and education.
Evans is in Kigali for the concert, which will take place at BK Arena.
Doja Cat is the third global artist to headline the Move Afrika series, following performances by Kendrick Lamar in 2024 and John Legend in 2025.
The 30-year-old artist, known for hit songs including “Say So,” “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA, and “Streets,” is expected to continue the tour in South Africa with a performance scheduled for March 20.
Since its launch in 2023, Move Afrika has created more than 2,500 jobs, according to organizers.
