Doja Cat Delivers High-Energy Set to Packed Kigali Arena

Kigali’s live music scene reached a new high on Tuesday night as Doja Cat headlined a major concert at BK Arena, drawing fans from across Africa and beyond.

The Grammy Award-winning artist performed as part of the Move Afrika tour, going ahead with the show despite online criticism and calls for a boycott in the days leading up to the event.

Inside a packed arena, Doja Cat delivered an energetic performance, running through a string of popular tracks including “Woman,” “Paint the Town Red,” “Need to Know,” and “Tia Tamera.” The turnout underscored Kigali’s growing reputation as a destination for large-scale international entertainment.

The concert was staged by Global Citizen, with its founder Hugh Evans highlighting Rwanda’s expanding role in hosting global events.

Evans pointed to the progression of the Move Afrika series, which previously brought Kendrick Lamar and John Legend to Kigali in earlier editions.

The audience included a mix of local and international attendees, as well as senior Rwandan figures. Rwanda’s First Lady was present at the event, joining thousands of concertgoers in a lively atmosphere.

Doja Cat ended her set with “Baby, I’m Jealous,” her collaboration with Bebe Rexha, closing out the night to loud cheers from the crowd.
