Arsenal in Advanced Talks to Sign Valencia Defender Cristhian Mosquera

Arsenal are reportedly close to signing Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera, as the club looks to strengthen its defensive options ahead of the new season.

The 20-year-old Spanish youth international has made 73 appearances in LaLiga over the past two seasons, impressing with his maturity and consistency. He is also eligible to play for Colombia and has drawn interest from several top clubs, including Germany’s RB Leipzig.

Despite efforts by Valencia to extend his contract, Arsenal are believed to be in a strong position to complete the transfer. Talks are progressing over a €20 million fee, and Mosquera is said to have already agreed personal terms with the North London side.

Arsenal’s interest comes amid ongoing concerns about depth in central defence. William Saliba has been linked with possible moves away, while Gabriel Magalhaes is in need of reliable backup. Jakub Kiwior, who filled in during parts of last season, may also be on the move, as Arsenal reshuffle their defensive line.

The Gunners had previously targeted young defender Dean Huijsen, who has since joined Real Madrid. They are now focused on other key signings, including goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, midfielder Christian Norgaard, and Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi.
