Air Algeria has launched direct flights to Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, marking a significant step in strengthening air connectivity between North and West Africa.
Abuja is now the 25th African destination served by Algeria’s flag carrier, which continues to expand its regional footprint.
The airline also plans to add new routes to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Libreville, Gabon; and N’Djamena, Chad, as part of its broader expansion strategy across the continent. It is also exploring additional routes to Europe, North America and China.
Passenger traffic to African destinations rose 76% over the past decade, increasing from just over 100,000 travelers in 2014 to 179,000 in 2024, according to company data.
